2026 Steelers Training Camp - Day 13 Recap

With one preseason game completed and only one training camp session left, the Pittsburgh Steelers returned to the field at St. Vincent Stadium for another practice. The weather held up, and the team delivered a surprisingly subdued but physically intense workout.

So, Steelers fans, let’s go.

Injury Report

With the injury list continuing to expand, rookie Kaden Wetjen returned to practice after missing time with an ankle issue. His comeback was one of the few positives on a day when several notable Steelers were absent. Wetjen aside, a significant group of key contributors did not participate in today’s session:

  • WR DK Metcalf

  • WR Michael Pittman Jr.

  • DT Sebastian Joseph-Day

  • S Jaquan Brisker

  • DB Israel Mukuamu

  • CB Brandin Echols

  • OL Max Iheanachor

  • Brandon Smith

The Elandon Effect

This afternoon’s practice was easily the most physical—and at times volatile—session of this year’s training camp. The tone shifted noticeably with the return of veteran linebacker Elandon Roberts, whose presence had an immediate impact. His hitting, intensity, and constant vocal energy shaped the entire workout, setting a rugged pace that defined the day.

Big Training Camp Brawl

Staying in line with the day’s physical tone, rookie safety Robert Spears-Jennings made his presence felt throughout the team period. His most notable moment came at the end of practice, when he delivered a heavy hit on running back Max Hurleman. What followed was the largest brawl of this year’s camp, erupting immediately after the collision and pulling in players from both sides of the ball.

Jamison's Big Day

One of the day’s true standouts was cornerback D’Shawn Jamison, a player who has rarely surfaced in camp discussions. Jamison delivered his most impactful showing yet, stacking two pass breakups and punctuating the session with a pick‑six during 7‑on‑7 work.

Johnson's Future In Doubt

Since their preseason game Thursday, many have questioned second‑year running back Kaleb Johnson’s future on the team, given the limited snaps he received. Today’s session made the outlook even more bleak, as he was relegated to fifth‑string reps.
