The throwback uniforms were arguably unappealing, though not nearly as disappointing as the team’s performance on the field.
After a promising first half, the Pittsburgh Steelers allowed 28 points in the second half, ultimately falling 35–25 and dropping their season record to 4–3.
Following the Steelers’ opening offensive drive, which culminated in a field goal, Packers quarterback Jordan Love swiftly and efficiently led his team down the field. The drive spanned 67 yards over six plays and was capped by a touchdown reception from tight end Tucker Kraft, giving Green Bay a 7–3 advantage.
In the second quarter, the Steelers successfully halted another promising Packers drive, preventing any points. Pittsburgh responded with a six-play, 21-yard possession that resulted in a second field goal by kicker Chris Boswell, narrowing the deficit to one point. Later in the quarter, Boswell restored the Steelers’ lead with a field goal following a nine-play, 34-yard drive, putting them ahead 9–7.
Just before the two-minute warning, quarterback Aaron Rodgers orchestrated an 84-yard scoring drive, culminating in a touchdown. Boswell’s extra point extended the Steelers’ lead to 16–7 late in the second quarter.
Before halftime, Jordan Love once again led the Packers offense downfield, but the drive ended in a missed field goal attempt, preserving Pittsburgh’s nine-point lead.
After the Steelers’ first offensive possession of the second half failed to produce points, Love responded with another efficient drive. The series was highlighted by a 59-yard catch-and-run by Kraft and concluded with a 9-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Savion Williams, trimming the Steelers’ lead to just two points.
Pittsburgh answered on the ensuing drive with another field goal by Boswell, following a 39-yard offensive series, increasing their lead to five.
In the fourth quarter, Packers running back Josh Jacobs concluded a 10-play, 75-yard drive with a touchdown, a series highlighted by a pivotal 33-yard reception on third down from wide receiver Christian Watson. A successful two-point conversion followed, giving Green Bay a 22–19 lead.
After another unproductive offensive possession by the Steelers, quarterback Jordan Love connected with tight end Tucker Kraft for a 24-yard catch-and-run touchdown, extending the Packers’ lead to 10 points.
From that point forward, the Steelers appeared disengaged, committing multiple penalties and failing to generate any sustained offensive momentum. Defensively, they struggled to contain the Packers, allowing several explosive plays. By the time the game reached the four-minute mark, Pittsburgh had surrendered 28 points in the second half.
Shortly before the two-minute warning, the Steelers responded with a touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers to wide receiver Roman Wilson. However, the unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt allowed the Packers to retain their double-digit lead.
For the Steelers, the standout performer was kicker Chris Boswell, who contributed 13 of the team’s 25 points. Wide receiver Roman Wilson delivered the most impressive outing of his young NFL career, leading the team with 74 receiving yards on four receptions and recording his first career touchdown.
Conversely, the defense failed to generate any impactful plays and allowed over 400 yards of total offense for the second consecutive week.
