Among the bevy of moves Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan made in the first week of free agency, the one that remains a question mark—aside from the quarterback position—is left guard.

With veteran Isaac Seumalo departing for the Arizona Cardinals this week, a void remains at left guard—one that 2023 seventh-round pick Spencer Anderson may not be ready to fill.

Long-time Steelers media personality and broadcaster Mike Prisuta released his latest mock draft alongside fellow broadcasters Max Starks and Matt Williamson. Both Starks and Williamson had the Steelers selecting a receiver with the 21st overall pick; Prisuta, however, went in a different direction, projecting Penn State offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane at that spot.

This week, the Steelers bolstered their receiver room by trading for former Colts wideout Michael Pittman Jr., adding him to a group that already includes DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson. With the likelihood that the Steelers will still draft at least one receiver, the acquisition of Pittman may have saved them from needing to invest their first-round pick at the position.

Ioane enters the offseason as one of the top offensive linemen in this year’s draft class. Last season with the Nittany Lions, he surrendered zero sacks and only four pressures across 613 pass-blocking snaps. His performance earned him First-Team All-American honors.

The Steelers hold 12 picks in this year’s draft in Pittsburgh, and it would be reasonable to assume that a player like Ioane is firmly on their radar.
