For some, it was a first-time experience. For others, it was a familiar routine. Regardless, every player checking into their room at Saint Vincent College understood that this marked the beginning of what promises to be a long and arduous process.
Patrick Queen
Despite earning a Pro Bowl selection last season, Queen has openly expressed disappointment with his performance. As the earliest arrival at Saint Vincent College, he appears highly motivated to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
Cole Holcomb
Among the notable early arrivals was veteran linebacker Cole Holcomb, who showed up with a fresh haircut in place of his trademark mullet.
Just a year ago, Holcomb’s NFL future remained uncertain as he was still undergoing rehabilitation from a severe knee injury sustained in 2023. His early arrival likely reflects a focused mindset, as he enters this year’s training camp with much to prove.
D.K Metcalf
Among the many first-time arrivals at Saint Vincent was Pro Bowl wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, who pulled up in style in a black SUV, sporting a black hoodie.
Much like former Steelers receiver George Pickens, Metcalf is expected to be a standout at this year’s camp, delivering highlight-reel plays. However, one element that may be unfamiliar to him is the level of physicality that awaits — a defining trait of this training environment.
T.J Watt
Despite signing the largest non-quarterback contract in NFL history just over a day ago, All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt arrived in Latrobe for his ninth training camp driving a modest-sized vehicle and carrying his bag and box in hand. One can be assured that he will be all be all business when they hit the field.
Jalen Ramsey
For Jalen Ramsey, entering his first Steelers camp, the question surrounding him is what position in the secondary he plans to play of the team this upcoming season. When asked by reporters, Ramsey left it up in the air for others to figure out. What he did assure however, was his focus on playing good football.
The team is set to kick off their first official day of training camp on the field tomorrow afternoon. For more details, visit the Steelers official website.
