So, Steelers fans, let's go!
Injury Report
Prior to this afternoon’s practice session, the Steelers announced a wave of roster cuts, including defensive back Cam McCutcheon — notably the team’s highest-graded player in Saturday’s preseason win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Several Steelers players were absent from today’s practice session due to various injuries. Among those sidelined were wide receiver Calvin Austin III (undisclosed), rookie quarterback Will Howard (finger), linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin), cornerback Cory Trice Jr. (hamstring), cornerback Jalen Ramsey (undisclosed), center Ryan McCollum (undisclosed), and tight ends JJ Galbreath and Jonnu Smith.
During the opening sequence of the team’s “Seven Shots” drill, cornerback Darius Slay sustained an apparent ankle injury and was seen limping to the sidelines.
Day 14 Camp Notes -
Roman Wilson Continues to Impress at Steelers Camp
Building on his standout preseason debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars, wide receiver Roman Wilson carried that momentum into today’s practice session. During one-on-one drills, Wilson showcased his speed and precision, beating cornerback Brandin Echols with ease.
Quarterbacks Shine in Team Drills
With much of the starting secondary sidelined, quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph took full advantage during team sessions, delivering several deep completions and showcasing their command of the offense. Both signal-callers demonstrated poise and precision, connecting with receivers for substantial gains throughout the afternoon.
Joey Porter Jr. Shuts Down Receivers
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. delivered a standout performance during today’s practice, consistently locking down receivers in both team drills and one-on-one matchups. Porter recorded two pass breakups on deep throws during team sessions and added another during individual drills, reinforcing his reputation as a rising force in the Steelers’ secondary.
