The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their third game of the season this past Thursday against the Cleveland Browns. On both sides of the ball, the team experienced their fair share of struggles, which, in turn, caused many players to see a decrease in their fantasy value.
-Offense-
One of the few standouts for the Steelers on offense was receiver Calvin Austin III, who led the team with 78 yards on three receptions, including a 26-yard touchdown reception. From last week, Austin III moved up three spots to No. 72 among players in his position with 73.4 fantasy points. George Pickens stayed put at No. 17 with 139.0 fantasy points after recording 48 yards on four receptions. As for Van Jefferson, he finished the game with 39 yards on just two receptions, but is currently out of the top 100 for players in his position.
Surprisingly, the tight ends got their opportunity to contribute, with Pat Freiermuth leading the way with four receptions for 59 yards, his longest being a 22-yard reception in the second half. After a down performance in Week 11, Freiermuth moved up three spots to No. 14 among players in his position with 86.4 fantasy points. In the case of Darnell Washington, he caught everything that came his way but only registered 14 yards on three receptions. For this week, he moves up one spot to No. 39 with 41.2 fantasy points.
After going on a hot streak with three straight 100-yard games last month, November has not been nearly as prosperous for running back Najee Harris. In this game, Harris registered 41 rushing yards on 16 carries, averaging only 2.6 yards per carry. From last week, Harris moved up two spots to No. 24 with 135.4 fantasy points. Backup Jaylen Warren was much more efficient on the ground, finishing with 11 carries for 41 rushing yards, for an average of 4.1 yards per carry. After moving up 10 spots last week, Warren moved up four spots this week to No. 44 among players in his position with 69.5 fantasy points.
After a slow start, quarterback Russell Wilson got it going and started dealing in the fourth quarter. In the end, he finished with 270 yards on 21 completions, a touchdown pass, and a QBR of 116.7. Despite a commendable performance, Wilson remains 33rd among players in his position with 76.9 fantasy points. Backup Justin Fields also played and contributed 26 rushing yards. He currently stands 24th with 117.6 fantasy points.
-Defense-
As of late, the defense's sack output has been uncharacteristically low in the last three weeks. In their loss to the Browns, the team registered just one sack, which came from linebacker Nick Herbig, who also registered a forced fumble and five tackles. For this week, he sits at No. 95 among linebackers with 42.6 fantasy points. For All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt, it's been rough the last few weeks as opposing offenses continue to make him the focal point of their blocking schemes. On this day, he did not register any sacks and only went down two spots from last week to No. 5 with 106.7 fantasy points.
In the secondary, safety DeShon Elliott was once again a standout in the back end. Against the Browns, he did a little bit of everything, finishing with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a pass deflection, and six tackles. For his efforts, he moved up four spots to No. 5 with 89.0 fantasy points. Despite struggling in coverage and penalties, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. had a forgettable night on Thursday. Yet, he somehow moved up eight spots to No. 92 among defensive backs with 48.5 fantasy points. The other standout in the secondary was cornerback Donte Jackson, who registered his fourth interception of the season, along with a fumble recovery and three tackles. For this week, Jackson stands one position above Porter Jr. (No. 91) with 48.5 fantasy points.
The only interior defensive lineman worth noting this past week was veteran Cameron Heyward, who finished with six tackles and two pass deflections. He moved down only two spots to No. 13 among defensive linemen with 76.5 fantasy points.
