With the news of receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s reinstatement, one should expect him to have a healthy number of suitors looking to upgrade their offense for the latter portions of the season.
Since trading George Pickens in the offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been in need of an upgrade at the receiver position alongside D.K. Metcalf. This idea was highlighted by NFL analyst Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports, who listed the Steelers as one of five potential landing spots for the former Pro Bowl receiver.
In his analysis, Dajani suggests that Beckham Jr. may already be on Pittsburgh’s radar. Considering the lack of production this season from Steelers wideouts not named Metcalf, his addition could be exactly what the offense needs, according to Dajani.
"The Pittsburgh Steelers' front office has likely been keeping tabs on the receiver market all season, as DK Metcalf is the only wideout on the team that has surpassed 250 yards receiving this year. With Baltimore, one of OBJ's former teams, closing in on Pittsburgh in the division, the Steelers could look to add some help offensively."
Throughout his career, Beckham Jr. has been plagued by injuries that have derailed his path to greater success. In Super Bowl LVI, he suffered a torn ACL that kept him out of the 2022 season—marking the second time in his career he endured this type of injury. For the Steelers, this may play a significant role in their decision to pursue him.
Even so, Beckham Jr. remains one of the most talented receivers in NFL history, amassing 7,987 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns, earning three Pro Bowl selections and Second-Team All-Pro honors in 2015 and 2016.
