Steelers Selects King-Sized Georgia Lineman In Latest Mock Draft

With much of the discussion during the week revolving around receivers, one analyst believes the Pittsburgh Steelers will address offensive line early in this year's draft. In his most recent mock draft for CBS Sports, Will Brinson had the Steelers select Georgia right tackle Amarius Mims with the 20th overall selection.

With new quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields joining the squad, Brinson emphasizes the importance of adequately protecting them with a lineman like Mims.

"We know this won't be a quarterback! But the Steelers could certainly use some help protecting their two new quarterbacks, and we've seen the Steelers willing to dip their toe in the UGA pool."

Perhaps the other rationale is to have Broderick Jones return to his natural spot at left tackle over the incumbent, Dan Moore Jr., who has surrendered 15 sacks and 94 quarterback pressures in the last two seasons.

Despite the few snaps he has taken in his college career, Mims has proven to be one of the top pass-blocking offensive linemen in this year's class. According to Pro Football Focus, Mims surrendered zero sacks, zero quarterback hits, and just six pressures on 402 pass-block snaps.
