On yet another busy day in NFL free agency, the Pittsburg Steelers were in full attendance at Georgia Pro Day.
The names on hand for the Steelers were general manager Omar Khan, head coach Mike Tomlin, offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, and defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
Receiver Ladd McConkey was one of the day's standout performers, as he posted impressive numbers in the 3-cone and short shuttle drills. He might be on their radar because of the need at the wide receiver position created by the Diontae Johnson trade.
Two players who were unable to participate in today's pro day due to injuries were All-American tight end Brock Bowers and tackle Amarius Mims, who met formally with the Steelers at this year's Combine. During one of the drills, Smith was seen chatting with Bowers. As it stands, the team has not had any meetings with Bowers, which adds to the intrigue of their informal meeting.
In the last two drafts, the Steelers have taken at least one player from the Georgia program. Mims has been linked to the team in the first round, center Sedrick Van Pran in the early to mid-rounds, and they have shown interest in McConkey. The fact that they made it a priority to attend is a good sign that another Bulldog will find their way onto the roster.
