Steelers 2026 Week 5 Fantasy Football Report — Warren Keeps Moving To The Top

Stats by: fantasydata.com
The Pittsburgh Steelers turned in arguably their most complete performance of the season in a Week 5 win over the Indianapolis Colts, improving to 3-2 on the year.
But for fantasy managers, the biggest takeaway wasn't the final score.
Amid the Steelers' breakout performance, one player didn't just steal the spotlight. He may have emerged as the hottest rising asset in fantasy football.
🔥 Fantasy Movers
🏈 Jaylen Warren - RB
At this point, Jaylen Warren belongs in the conversation with the NFL's elite offensive playmakers. He was the engine that powered Pittsburgh's offence against Indianapolis and the driving force behind the Steelers' most explosive performance of the season.
Warren set the tone early with an 80-yard catch-and-run touchdown before breaking the game open again with a 50-yard touchdown run later in the contest. In doing so, he made history, becoming the first player since Herschel Walker in 1986 to record an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 50-yard touchdown run in the same game.
The monster outing sent Warren soaring eight spots to RB7 with 93.0 fantasy points, further cementing his status as one of fantasy football's hottest assets. If he's somehow still available in your league, don't wait. Warren is red hot and looks like a weekly difference-maker.
Payton Wilson - LB
For whatever reason, Payton Wilson always seems to save some of his best football for the Colts.
After a quiet Week 4 performance against the Cleveland Browns, Wilson bounced back in a big way, making his presence felt all over the field. The linebacker stuffed the stat sheet with a game-high 10 tackles, a quarterback hit, two tackles for loss, and a pass breakup.
His standout performance propelled him up 12 spots to LB15 with 45.9 fantasy points. Even when the splash plays aren't there, Wilson has consistently shown a knack for piling up tackles, making him one of the more dependable IDP options. Keep him locked into your lineup with confidence.
Asante Samuel Jr. - CB
With the Steelers' secondary facing questions following the departure of Joey Porter Jr., Asante Samuel Jr. stepped up when Pittsburgh needed him most.
After a shaky start, the veteran cornerback settled in and turned in one of the best performances of the day by any member of the Steelers' defence. Samuel Jr. helped shut down the Colts' passing attack and came up with two game-saving plays, breaking up what appeared to be certain touchdowns, including one intended for tight end Tyler Warren.
When the dust settled, Samuel Jr. finished with a game-high four pass deflections and four tackles. While he remains outside the top 100 defensive backs in fantasy scoring, performances like this suggest that won't be the case for long. Fantasy managers in deeper IDP leagues should keep a close eye on Samuel Jr., as he appears poised to make his move up the rankings.
