Is Tyler Guyton On The Steelers First-Round Radar?

With all the talk of Georgia's Amarius Mims becoming the Pittsburgh Steelers next first-round pick, there was one tackle who caught the attention of head coach Mike Tomlin well before Mims. His name is Tyler Guyton.

During this year's Reese's Senior Bowl event in January, Guyton was one of the offensive linemen who stood out with his technique and physicality. Tomlin, who is known to be an enthusiastic participant in the Senior Bowl each year, started interacting with him. Per reports, both he and Guyton had an extended conversation, which he noted as a "dream come true."

Since that time, Mims has pulled ahead as the offensive tackle most likely to be selected by the team. Yet, with confirmation of Guyton's arrival for a top-30 visit today, he should also be perceived as a possibility for the Steelers to take in either the early or mid rounds of the upcoming NFL Draft.

Last season with the Sooners, Guyton played a career-high 663 snaps. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed zero sacks, three hits, and nine quarterback hurries on 355 pass-blocking snaps.
