Can the Steelers Contain Harold Fannin Jr.?

It's not often that the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns meet with first place in the division on the line. That's exactly what's at stake this Sunday, as the winner will take over the top spot in the AFC North.
The Browns got the better of the Steelers in their Week 4 matchup, and since then, they've emerged as one of the biggest surprises of the season. A major reason for their success has been their collection of offensive playmakers. Among the most underrated is tight end Harold Fannin Jr., who currently ranks second on the team in receptions, third in receiving yards and is tied for the team lead in touchdown catches.
Fannin has developed into a cerebral weapon for the Browns' offence, using his speed, route-running savvy and understanding of defensive coverages to consistently create separation and make plays. Whether lined up in-line, in the slot or moved around the formation, he has become a reliable target capable of exploiting mismatches against both linebackers and defensive backs.
While Fannin presents a difficult matchup, the Steelers' defence has come a long way since these two teams last met. Under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, Pittsburgh's secondary has shown steady improvement, while linebackers Payton Wilson and Patrick Queen have emerged as valuable coverage defenders. Both stood out in last Sunday's win over the Saints in Paris, making them intriguing options to help contain Fannin in Tampa 2 looks and underneath coverage.
Containing Fannin will be one of the Steelers' biggest challenges on Sunday. The Browns have found creative ways to get the ball into his hands, and allowing him to operate freely over the middle of the field could create problems for Pittsburgh's defence. If the Steelers hope to avenge their earlier loss and leave Cleveland atop the AFC North, slowing down one of the Browns' most versatile offensive weapons will be a good place to start.
