2025 Steelers Week 9 Fantasy Football Recap - Benton and Wilson Climb The Charts

ree

Coming off a two-game skid, the Pittsburgh Steelers appeared to be teetering on the edge, staring down a matchup with one of the NFL’s elite squads—the Indianapolis Colts.

But instead of folding, the Black and Gold delivered a clutch 27–20 victory at home. After two straight weeks where the defense looked flat and devoid of splash plays, the unit came alive in a big way. Several defenders stepped up and made impact plays, reigniting their fantasy relevance.

Offensive Fantasy Moves -

Aaron Rodgers (QB, Steelers) Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers extended his streak to eight consecutive games with at least one touchdown pass in Sunday’s victory over the Colts. While it wasn’t his most prolific performance, Rodgers still posted a respectable stat line: 25 completions for 203 passing yards and a touchdown.

Despite the win, his fantasy stock took a slight hit. Rodgers dropped three spots in the rankings, landing at QB17 with a season total of 129.5 fantasy points.

Jaylen Warren (RB, Steelers) Though it wasn’t his most productive outing, Steelers running back Jaylen Warren continued to deliver where it counts—scoring. He found the end zone twice, finishing the game with 31 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Thanks to his scoring efficiency, Warren climbed four spots in the rankings this week, landing at RB20 with a season total of 98.7 fantasy points.

DK Metcalf (WR, Steelers) It was a forgettable outing for Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, who posted one of the least productive games of his career. He managed just two receptions for six receiving yards, failing to make a meaningful impact on the stat sheet.

Despite the disappointing performance, Metcalf slid only eight spots in the rankings, settling at WR25 with a season total of 105.7 fantasy points.

Defensive Fantasy Movers -

Payton Wilson (LB, Steelers) - Over the past two weeks, no defensive player on the Steelers roster has performed at a higher level than second-year linebacker Payton Wilson. With elite speed and instinctive playmaking ability, Wilson was everywhere on the field in Sunday’s matchup against the Colts. He racked up a team-high 14 tackles, snagged an interception, and broke up two passes — one of which was picked off by rookie linebacker Jack Sawyer, thanks to Wilson’s deflection.

📈 Last week, Wilson surged 17 spots in the rankings. This week, he climbs another 19 slots to land at LB22, now boasting 68.3 fantasy points on the season. If you're in IDP formats, it's time to take notice — Payton Wilson is heating up and showing no signs of slowing down.

Keeanu Benton (DL, Steelers) To the surprise of many fantasy managers, the biggest riser of the week was Steelers interior defensive lineman Keeanu Benton. In Pittsburgh’s win over the Colts, Benton wreaked havoc in the trenches, making life miserable for quarterback Daniel Jones. He posted a stat line of 5 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 quarterback hits — a disruptive performance that turned heads across IDP formats.

📊 As a result, Benton skyrocketed 38 spots in the rankings, jumping from DL93 to DL55. He now sits at 33.1 fantasy points on the season and is quickly becoming a name to watch for managers looking to bolster their defensive line depth.

Alex Highsmith (LB, Steelers) After battling injuries for much of the season, Alex Highsmith returned with a vengeance, delivering his most dominant performance to date. He stuffed the stat sheet with two sacks, three tackles for loss, and a pass deflection—reminding fantasy managers why he’s a force to be reckoned with. As a result, Highsmith makes his season debut at LB70, racking up an impressive 42.0 fantasy points.
