Week 5 Fantasy Football Recap: Pickens Climbs Up

In the Steelers' embarrassing loss to the Buffalo Bills, rookie receiver George Pickens put together another impressive game, finishing with 83 receiving yards on six receptions.

Pickens rose two spots from last week to No. 54 among receivers, according to fantasypros.com, and he currently has 25.5 fantasy points. Meanwhile, receiver Diontae Johnson has been trending downwards in the last two games but is still leading all Steelers receivers with 28.9 fantasy points. With Pickens' continuous increase in production, one should not be surprised if he surpasses Johnson sooner or later.

Speaking of upward trends, tight end Zach Gentry moved to the 43rd spot among tight ends with 8.5 fantasy points. In their loss Sunday to the Bills, Gentry contributed 5 receptions for 43 yards. Though he is not targeted often, he has proven to be reliable when called up. Fellow tight end Pat Freiermuth moved down to the 10th spot with 29.5 fantasy points. Freiermuth left the game late with a concussion, and his status for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay is uncertain.

On defense, linebacker Alex Highsmith moved down to the 13th spot among linebackers with 71.9 fantasy points. At one point, Highsmith led all linebackers in this category, but saw his stock decrease after failing to record a sack against the Bills. Fellow linebacker Myles Jack continues to sit strong at No. 19 with 65.1 fantasy points. So far this season, Jack has recorded 50 total tackles and four stuffs.

Veteran defensive lineman Cam Heyward continues to show why he is the leader on defense. As it stands, Heyward sits 29th among defensive linemen with 43.3 fantasy points. Meanwhile, rookie linebacker DeMarvin Leal climbs to No. 117 with 17.6 fantasy points. Defensive end Chris Wormley has a respectable 20.1 fantasy points, and Larry Ogunjobi is ranked at No. 126 with 16.6 fantasy points.
