Week 17 Steelers Postgame Reports: Social Media Reaction

2023 could not have started any better for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After trailing for over three quarters, rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett once again engineered a masterful late fourth quarter touchdown drive, capped off by running back Najee Harris' 10-yard touchdown. All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick would seal the deal with his sixth interception of the season, allowing the Steelers to escape with a 16-13 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

This win, coupled with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets losing on the same day, keeps the Steelers in the playoff hunt with only one week remaining.

The story of this game was Harris, who finished with 22 carries for 122 yards and the game-winning touchdown reception. The unsung hero on defense was linebacker Robert Spillane, who came in relief for Myles Jack and finished with nine total tackles, one of them for loss, and two for no gain.

For a team in its rebuilding season after losing long-time quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to retirement in 2022, the fact that they are 8-8 and have a chance to make the playoffs if everything goes well next week speaks volumes about head coach Mike Tomlin and the organization as a whole.
