There was a moment when pass rusher Tardarian Moultry was ready to transfer from the only school he had known for four years. Luckily, that moment never materialized.
During his time at Auburn, Moultry admitted that he never felt like he fit. Even as a top recruit back in 2017, Moultry watched as underclassmen were pushed up the depth chart. As a consequence, his production as well as his confidence dwindled. It seemed as if he would never reach his full potential.
Everything changed for Moultry changed when he decided to return for his "super senior" year in 2021. Under the guidance of his new position coordinator, Moultry flourished alongside fellow pass rusher Derick Hall. He would post career numbers in tackles (33), tackles for loss (7.5), and sacks (4). His performance last season earned him an invitation to the 2022 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
From humble beginnings to being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Moultry now has the chance to realize his true potential. If 2021 was any indication, he could be the type of player to rise above the others and make a name for himself on the NFL stage.
