Steelers Week 8 Postgame Commentary and Reaction

On a rain-soaked afternoon at Acrisure Stadium, the Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 20-10. With the loss, the team's overall record fell to 4-3.

The story for the Steelers in this game was injuries. All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick sustained a hamstring injury early in the contest and was unable to continue. Quarterback Kenny Pickett was unable to play the second half due to a rib injury he sustained in the second quarter. Receiver Diontae Johnson reaggravated his hamstring injury during George Pickens' touchdown and was out for the remainder of the contest.

On defense, the Steelers did their best to keep the team afloat, collecting three sacks and three turnovers. They also surrendered 381 total yards against Trevor Lawrence and his crew, which also included 20 first downs.

Despite losing by 10 points, the score does not appropriately depict how badly the team was outplayed on both sides of the ball. The team has serious deficiencies on offense and defense, which they should address before Tuesday's trade deadline. The Steelers play again on Thursday night as they face the Tennessee Titans. The pending question is: What moves will general manager Omar Khan make before gameday?
