It really comes down to one person, Najee Harris.
It is no secret that Harris' departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers was far from quiet, as he openly criticized the team's offensive identity, citing it as one of the key factors behind his struggles during his four-year tenure. The prospect of Harris seeking redemption against his former team only adds to the intrigue surrounding the Chargers' Week 10 matchup with Pittsburgh.
In his latest ranking of this season’s "Sunday Night Football" matchups, NFL analyst Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports placed the Chargers vs. Steelers at No. 10. In his analysis, he suggests that the Chargers may give Harris a substantial number of touches as a form of retribution against the team that allowed him to leave in free agency.
"Why will Steelers at Chargers be a top-10 Sunday night game this year? The Najee Harris revenge game, of course. The Steelers let Harris go in free agency, and he signed a one-year deal in L.A. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman loves to run the football, and I can see him giving Harris a ridiculous amount of touches against his former team."
Though the Chargers may seek to capitalize on their running game, the Steelers have diligently revamped their defensive front this offseason through free agency and the NFL Draft, aiming to neutralize opposing rushing offenses. Regardless of how the game unfolds, one can expect a physical and intense matchup.
Last season, the Steelers defeated the Chargers in Week 3 by a score of 20-10. The team holds an all-time record of 25-11-0 against the Chargers. Over their last five meetings, the Steelers have posted a 3-2 record against them.
