One of the biggest questions coming into this year's OTAs surrounded the potential return of defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt.
Tuitt has not played in an NFL game since their playoff loss to the Cleveland Browns on January 3rd, 2021. Since then, he has had to endure the tragic passing of his younger brother, Richard Bartlett III, who was a victim of a hit and run on June 2nd, 2021.
There has been much speculation on his future in football in general, as he has moved back to his hometown of Indianapolis. On May 5th, former general manager Kevin Colbert noted a meeting with him. During that time, Tuitt was still recovering from a knee injury and working through personal situations. Based on that discussion, there was seemingly some encouragement for Tuitt's potential return.
During the first day of OTA, veteran and All-Pro defensive lineman Cam Heyward addressed his absence by voicing his confidence on his attendance at mandatory minicamp starting on Tuesday, June 7th.
With is in mind, we ask you, Steelers Nation, if you believed that Tuitt would make his return at mandatory minicamp? The response was mixed, as half of the fans believed he would return, the other half believe he would not attend, while few of you were unsure.
One thing is for certain: Tuitt makes the Steelers a much better team overall. At this point, only time will tell. All we can do is hope for the best as the offseason continues.
