Rookie Spencer Anderson Takes Reps At Backup Center

Could rookie Spencer Anderson become the team's next backup center?

During this afternoon's training camp session, Anderson was reported taking reps at center with the third and second teams; meanwhile, Kendrick Green was reportedly running with the second team at center to begin the session instead of fullback.

With Nate Herbig currently nursing a shoulder injury, Anderson may very well be looking to make the move to center, a position in which he started five times during his collegiate years with the University of Maryland.

Considering Green's lackluster performance on Friday against the Tampa Bay

Buccaneers, the Steelers are in need of reliable depth at center. Even if Herbig were to return, Anderson could very well see some reps at center in their upcoming preseason games.
