Kenny Robinson Jr. Makes A Big Impression On Day 4

Updated: Jul 30

Before today, few fans knew that safety Kenny Robinson Jr. was still on the Pittsburgh Steelers roster. On this day, however, Robinson Jr. took the time to re-introduce himself.

During the "seven shots" drill, the defense came back to win 4-3 after being down 3-1; Robinson Jr. led the defense with a pass deflection and an interception against quarterback Mason Rudolph to help them win. He would then record his second interception of the day during team drills on a deep pass by Rudolph, intended for receiver Calvin Austin II.

Thus far, the competition at secondary has been fierce, as several defensive backs have risen to the occasion on various days. If Robinson Jr. wants to solidify a spot on the Steelers roster, he will need several days like the one he had today.

Robinson Jr. was signed to a reserve/futures contract by the team in January. Prior to joining the Steelers, Robinson Jr. had a stint with the St. Louis BattleHawks. XFL before being drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the 5th round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
