Last season, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell dealt with a nagging groin injury that resulted in some struggles.
Despite being perfect on extra points, Boswell recorded a career-low 71.4 (20-28) field goal percentage and a career-low 78 points. Even with this, Boswell was listed at No. 6 on John Breech's top 10 NFL kickers list for CBS Sports.
"Also, one reason Boswell struggled in 2022 was because he was dealing with a groin injury that forced him to miss five games. If a kicker is dealing with a lower body injury, that usually means trouble for them, because it's almost impossible to play through."
Boswell's track record is partly why Breech still had him on his list. From 2019 to 2021, record field goal percentages of 90% or more, making him the only kicker in NFL history to do so. In eight seasons, Boswell has a career field goal percentage of 86.3.
