Can Najee Harris Reach Back-To-Back 1000-Rushing Yard Seasons?

In what did not seem possible at the beginning of the year, Najee Harris has the chance to accomplish something a Pittsburgh Steelers running back has not been able to achieve in a while.

With only two games remaining in the 2022 season, Harris is on pace to record his second straight 1,000-yard season, a feat that was last accomplished by former running back Le'Veon Bell in 2016 and 2017.

For the offense in general, they have seen a resurgence in their ground offense since their Week 10 win against the New Orleans Saints in November. Since that time, Harris has averaged over 68 rushing yards per game. As it stands, he needs only 157 more yards to reach the 1,000-yard mark.

Despite the slow start, Harris has maintained his role as the offense's workhorse with 227 carries. Of the 24 total touchdowns scored this season, Harris has accounted for a team-leading eight of them. His versatility has been key all season to producing in a multitude of ways offensively.

Harris' usage will almost certainly increase as the team continues its late-season playoff push. Whether or not he reaches 1,000 yards this season, his value to the team should be unquestioned at this point.
