The Pittsburgh Steelers struggled on both sides of the ball in their Week 2 home defeat against the Seattle Seahawks, leaving few bright spots to highlight. However, one standout performance came from running back Jaylen Warren, who significantly boosted his fantasy football value.
Offensive Fantasy Movers -
Warren emerged as the Steelers’ most dependable option in the backfield, delivering consistent production both on the ground and through the air. He recorded 14 carries for 48 rushing yards and added 84 receiving yards on four catches, becoming one of Aaron Rodgers’ most trusted targets.
Thanks to his dual-threat performance, Warren climbed six spots in the fantasy rankings, landing at No. 12 among running backs with a total of 31.3 fantasy points.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a challenging outing against the Seahawks’ defense, completing 18 passes for 203 yards and one touchdown, but also throwing two interceptions. As a result, Rodgers dropped four spots in the fantasy rankings to No. 11 among quarterbacks, now sitting at 36.1 fantasy points.
Among wide receivers, DK Metcalf slipped eight spots to No. 34 with 23.3 fantasy points after a modest performance of three receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown. Calvin Austin III, who impressed in Week 1, saw a significant dip in production, managing just one catch for 22 yards. He fell 23 spots to No. 39 with 20.2 fantasy points.
At tight end, Jonnu Smith moved down one spot to No. 12 with 19.2 fantasy points, finishing the game with four receptions for 27 yards. On the other side, Pat Freiermuth climbed three spots to No. 24 among tight ends, contributing three receptions for 31 yards and totaling 11.9 fantasy points.
Defensive Fantasy Movers -
The biggest riser of the week was veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who surged 44 spots to No. 22 among defensive backs after posting 15.5 fantasy points. Ramsey delivered a standout performance, recording six tackles, two pass deflections, and an interception.
Coming in second was second-year linebacker Payton Wilson, who climbed 40 spots to No. 16 among linebackers with 18.8 fantasy points. While his play wasn’t always polished, Wilson led the defense with 10 tackles, a sack, and a quarterback hit.
His counterpart at the second level, Patrick Queen, started strong but faded as the game progressed. He finished with six tackles, including one for a loss, and a quarterback hit. Queen remains at No. 37 among linebackers with 14.0 fantasy points.
One of the few defensive bright spots was rookie linebacker Jack Sawyer, who made a notable impact with six total tackles—two for a loss—a sack, and a quarterback hit. Displaying the pass-rushing ability he honed at Ohio State, Sawyer broke into the top 100 at No. 66 among linebackers with 10.4 fantasy points.
Surprisingly, All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt has yet to record a sack this season. In the matchup against Seattle, Watt failed to produce any splash plays, finishing with four tackles and two quarterback hits. He drops to No. 52 among linebackers with 12.0 fantasy points.
Nick Herbig delivered a well-rounded performance, highlighted by an interception (via pass deflection), two tackles for loss, and a quarterback hit. He debuts this week at No. 70 among linebackers with 9.5 fantasy points.
Among other notable shifts on offense:
Cameron Heyward, veteran defensive tackle, fell to No. 49 among defensive linemen with 9.5 fantasy points.
Juan Thornhill, safety, climbed 24 spots to No. 60 among defensive backs with 11.5 fantasy points.
Chuck Clark, safety, rose 25 spots to No. 42 among defensive backs with 13.5 fantasy points.
