2023 Steelers Week 2 Fantasy Football Recap: Highsmith and Watt Boom Up The Charts





The dynamic pass-rush duo of Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt reigned supreme in the Steelers Week 2 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Monday night.


Combined, both Highsmith and Watt registered 11 tackles , 2 sacks, 6 QB hits, 2 passes defensed, an interception, and two defensive touchdowns. In one of the best defensive performances of the season, Watt maintained his No. 1 spot among linebackers with 60.5 fantasy points. Highsmith for his incredible effort stands third among linebackers with 42.8 fantasy points.


Other notable performers on defense include Cole Holcomb, who rose to the 37th spot among linebackers with 24.1 fantasy points after recording eight tackles and a forced fumble. Defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi, who had a solid outing with a sack, a tackle for loss, a fumble recovered, and two QB hits, rose to 27th among defensive linemen with 18.8 fantasy points. Lastly, DeMarvin Leal, who recorded his first career NFL sack and three tackles, is currently seated at No. 39 with 16.6 fantasy points.


On the other side of the ball, the only standout was George Pickens, who recorded a career high of 127 receiving yards on just four receptions and a touchdown. For his efforts, Pickens rose to the 14th spot among receivers with 22.3 fantasy points. Teammate Allan Robinson II, who registered just 12 receiving yards, fell to No. 71 with just 7.6 fantasy points. Calvin Austin III, who finished the game with 10 receiving yards, currently stands 93rd with 4.5 fantasy points.


Lastly, tight end Pat Freiermuth, who was limited by a chest injury, received few targets against the Browns and fell to the 24th spot among players in his position with 6.5 fantasy points.
