2023 Steelers Training Camp Recap - Day 10

After back-to-back padded practices, the Steelers took the field on Sunday afternoon at St. Vincent College with no pads to begin their week of training camp. With all the hitting that took place the previous four days, this was a well-needed change as they approach their first preseason game of 2023.

Today's training camp storylines include an All-Pro safety back in action, a UDFA QB making it happen, and a serious kicking battle.

So Steelers fans, let's go!

Day 10 Highlights And Top Performers

Harvin III vs. Mann

The battle between kicker Pressley Harvin III and rookie Braeden Mann has quietly been one of the most competitive since the beginning of camp. During the team session, both of them exchanged some pretty decent kicks for the crowd in attendance.

Minkah Fitzpatrick Back In Action

Despite dealing with serious family-related issues, All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was back in action during 11-vs-11s and 7 on 7s. Even though it was short, it was good to see him active again.

Kenny Robinson Jr. Shows Off His Ball Skills

As we have documented in previous pieces, safety Kenny Robinson Jr. possesses natural ball instincts. During team drill today, Robinson Jr. accounted for a pass breakup on tight end Connor Heyward and an interception against quarterback Tanner Morgan.

Tanner Morgan Shines

A name that has rarely been mentioned during Steelers camp is UDFA quarterback Tanner Morgan out of Minnesota. With Mason Rudolph taking the day off, Morgan was very productive, accounting for completions to tight end Rodney Williams, receiver Dan Chisena, and a big completion to Hakeem Butler, who made one of his signature big catches. He would later add an exclamation point to his performance with a deep ball touchdown to Chisena during 7-on-7s. If Morgan can replicate this performance going forward, a potential battle for QB3 may materialize.
