Player Description:

Name: Isaiah Hodgins

Position: Wide Receiver

College: Oregon State

Uniform Number: #17

Class: Junior

Height: 6'4

Weight: 209 lbs

Strengths:

Hodgins is a long, lean receiver, who combines reasonable athleticism, with excellent ball skills. Though he can play at the 'z' spot, Hodgins is best suited outside, where he can take advantage of his speed. As a route runner, Hodgins is able to run basic and complex routes effectively. At 6'4, he uses his length extremely well to make difficult catches in traffic. His ability to get top notch separation, derives from his ability to plan and execute single or double moves in full stride. In the red zone, his length and catch radius makes him a formidable weapon in these situations.

Weaknesses:

Hodgins does not consistently win leverage vertically due to questionable strength and physicality. For the most part, Hodgins did not face many press coverage defenders; an emphasis on building strength will be necessary to be an effective route runner in these situations. As a blocker, Hodgins lacks an overall effort in this aspect. Hodgins displays some difficulty dropping his hips, resulting in his breaks lacking sharpness; this could be attributed to his taller frame.
