Player Description:

Name: CJ Henderson

Position: Cornerback

College: Florida

Uniform Number: #1

Class: Junior

Height: 6'1

Weight: 202 lbs

Strengths:

Henderson is a long and lean defender with excellent feet and quickness. In press coverage, he is often engages aggressively at the line, and gives receiver little space to operate. Rarely gets fooled on double moves, Henderson is great at transitioning from backpedal and shadowing opposing receivers. On shorter, in-breaking routes, Henderson is often at the right place at the right time to break up passes. Has proven to be effective at blitzing and making plays. Possesses desirable ball skills, as he has shown his ability to close in and make timely pass breakups.

Weaknesses:

A real area of concern for Henderson involves supporting the run. At times, he seemingly makes half-hearted attempts at filling the gap when a running back comes his way. In terms of technique, his pad level needs considerable work, and has a habit of lowering his head; as a result, he tends to miss tackles. Though he possesses ideal quickness for shorter routes, his long speed is questionable, and is somewhat susceptible to getting beaten on deeper routes.
